From 1873 Jakob Ferdinand Nagel operated a distillery in Hamburg. The most recognised gin bottle from his company is the side panel embossed with a medallion which reads " HIGHEST MEDAL VIENNA 1873 " and a second medallion featuring the head profile of Kaiser Franz Joseph. A much rarer bottle is the one featured on this page, showing ATLAS HOLDING THE GLOBE on the opposite panel to the medallions. This bottle was found in West Africa. |
